2023 December #2
By a Joy Junction Staff Member (JBF)
It is our dearest hope that you have a Merry Christmas and a blessed holiday season!
Every one of you are very special to us. Your compassionate heart spreads joy every time you choose to join us as we strive to help those who have fallen on hard times.
We realize that we could do nothing without your support. Together, we really can make a difference!
During this holiday season, we wanted to let you know that we are thankful to partner with you as we work to serve those who are experiencing great difficulty – financially, mentally, and emotionally.
It’s our heart’s desire to help them make a positive change in their plans for their future. Many who go through our program wind up being able to get a job and move out to a place of their own. That’s the whole reason why we do what we do.
What a beautiful testimony that is, and we rejoice with them each time it happens throughout the year.
It’s crazy to think we are already at the end of the year, though, when it seems like we just started it…but, here we are, and we still need your help!
It’s vital that we raise enough funds to take care of our guests the way we know they deserve.
Most of our revenue comes from the last few months of each year. That’s what carries us through the first three-fourths of the following year. So, as you can imagine, your help is very much needed right now. Please consider a year-end gift to Joy Junction.
Remember, if you mail in a gift, please make sure it’s postmarked by December 31st to be tax deductible this year. Also, online donations may be made at joyjunction.org until midnight on 12/31/23 for the 2023 tax year.
Each gift is used to further our mission of turning around the lives of those who come to us. They depend on us to provide what they need to make that happen.
One of our guests, Curtis (not his real name), had this to say:
I couldn’t provide for my wife the way I should.
I needed help to change that. We chose to come to Joy Junction because we wanted to get sober and stay sober, but we wanted to do that together. Other places separate the women from the men and we didn’t want that.
When we got here, we had no intention of joining the program. But, we eventually did because we finally understood that the program was what would help us get sober. It was hard, but we did it.
After the program’s graduation, I wanted to start making money as soon as I could so we could get a place of our own. Because I had a new relationship with God, and I had seen other people get jobs here at the shelter, I didn’t want to go back to selling drugs – which is all I knew how to do. I waited for a job opening and then applied.
I am happy to say I have a job now. Becoming homeless has been a true blessing in disguise because it brought us here. It was the best decision we’ve ever made.
Curtis and his wife are able to move forward because of people like you. When you send in a donation, it gives us the ability to offer food, shelter, and programs to our guests so they can focus on turning their lives around.
Although your support has delivered powerful results throughout the year, at this year-end time, we still need your assistance to provide for the great number of hurting guests who reside with us daily.
If you’d like to give a credit card gift to help us during this year-end time, please go to www.joyjunction.org or call the business office at 505-217-9586. If you prefer to mail in a check or money order, please send it to PO Box 20550, Albuquerque, NM 87154.
We are grateful for your support of our ministry!
Your gifts help us continue to encourage and serve those who come to us.
You are an important part of our mission.
Thank you!
