As a former drug addict, Marcos came to the point of realizing he needed help, so he moved his family to Joy Junction.

Through the Christ in Power Program, he grew to understand salvation and gave his life to Christ in 2004. He was baptized, and dedicated his life to serve Christ. His desire was and is to be led by the Holy Spirit so that he can have a personal relationship with his Heavenly Father (Jehovah).

Marcos began his employment journey with Joy Junction in 2013 as a driver. Six months later, he was promoted to a Resident Services Supervisor position, which allowed him to work closely with the homeless guests who resided at the shelter.

Then, three years later, he accepted a position as Joy Junction’s Ordained Chaplain.  He was able to relate and communicate well with the guests because of his own personal life experiences.  He gained much knowledge, and used it to minister to them on a daily basis.  Three years later, He was asked to become the Resident Services Manager. Five years after that, with even more experience to guide him, he was asked to become the Chief Operating Officer. 

He chooses to allow the Lord to work through him and works hard to accomplish what God has for him each day.

Marcos states, “Christ has changed my life in ways that I am unable to explain.”

The verse he stands on (given to him by the late CEO, Dr. Jeremy Reynalds), is Jeremiah 29:11-13

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me.” (NLT)
