Were you among the many who hunted Easter eggs as a child? Did you color or dye the eggs to hunt, or did you use the plastic eggs filled with a treat or money? Does it bring back memories..?
Did you look for the marshmallow baby chicks called “Peeps” in the candy aisle as soon as the season got close? Or, did you prefer the chocolate bunnies?
How about now..? Are you the one who hides the colored or plastic eggs? Do you still seek out the candy that delights your taste buds?
Do you have a family gathering?
Do you prepare a big meal?
Do you attend church?
There are lots of questions concerning this season of new beginnings. Some people do all of the things listed, and some do one or none of them. Are you one who celebrates?
Most people understand that the special day is celebrated because the resurrection of Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, was a major event that has never happened before…and without it, we have no hope for Salvation or eternal life. It has nothing to do with coloring eggs or eating chocolate, despite the fact that they are very enjoyable activities.
Jesus came to earth through a virgin birth to take on the sins of the world, be sacrificed for each person, and then rise from the dead to be the Savior of the world.
That event was a one-time thing. It will never happen again. Yet, it’s result will last forever. We commemorate that glorious event on Easter Sunday.
It’s a date that’s important to set aside.
We are among many who choose to celebrate the date with a special meal. We want to slow all the normal everyday activities down a bit and set aside time to really think about what Jesus Christ has done for each individual – past, present, and future.
Having a special meal is part of how we show the love of God to those we serve. We strive to help our guests get to the point of wanting to begin the process of starting a new way of life…a “rebirth” of sorts. Providing for our guests’ physical needs comes first, and then we offer opportunities for them to choose to go through our programs to work at transforming their lives.
We hope everyone chooses to take a moment to think about the true reason behind Easter and has a joyous time celebrating.
the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
It is by His great mercy
that we have been born again, because
God raised Jesus Christ from the dead.
Now we live with great expectation.
